You must be registered and to access the free courses you just have to select the category (image 1) of your interest and then when the list of courses loads, you will see at the bottom an option that says “Filters” Here you will look for the pricing option and select “Free”, in addition to selecting the language of your interest which in our case would be “Spanish”.
OPPORTUNITY LINKEDIN
Microsoft and LinkedIn are joining forces and offering completely free courses aimed at acquiring and improving basic skills for technology jobs. These courses will be available free of charge until 2025. All courses are certified.
All courses on this platform have a learning path that guides you through an estimated time to complete each module.
SANTANDER OPEN ACADEMY
Banco Santander has opted for this platform, which is gaining more and more users, thanks to its offering of more than 1,000 learning and professional development courses. In this online classroom, as they say, you will find free training in the skills most in demand in the labor market.
You just have to register and when you access you will find courses on digital transformation, GPT Chat, etc. An important detail to mention is that most of these courses are with agreements made between other Academies, such as Udemy, MIT, and Harvard Business, and although some have to register for scholarships, others are fully accessible. They also have multimedia support such as podcasts, ebooks, audiobooks, and videos, among many others.
EDX
EDX is a platform that has been in the online teaching business for many years and today its wide variety of categories offers professional courses for different sectors such as technology, hospitality, tourism, and administration.
They offer two types of courses: instructor-led courses and self-paced courses, with or without a certificate. Most certificates are paid, so if you want to learn the skill without a certificate, you can also access the course you are interested in without getting the certificate.
This platform has many offers in English and other languages, so if you are interested in taking the course in Spanish, you must refine the search using the filters, as shown in the following image, where we have filtered by the language “Spanish”:
CONNECT EMPLOYMENT
Conecta empleo, as they advertise it, is a: “free digital training program promoted by Fundación Telefónica in Europe and Latin America to improve the digital skills of unemployed people or those who want to improve their employability.
Their motto: Connect your profile with the new digital employability!
They have training offers for Spanish-speaking countries. You have to be registered and once you filter or select the country, you will be shown a list of courses all arranged according to categories, such as cybersecurity, development, and marketing, among many others.
Conecta empleo is made up of 3 types of training offers:
Courses
We have already seen this point previously in previous paragraphs.
Professionals 4.0
These are training courses for different sectors whose main objective is to teach how to take advantage of the full potential of digitalization to serve the selected sectors, such as construction, transport, agri-food, tourism, gastronomy, and hospitality, which are less digitalized productive sectors.
Masterclasses
These are webinars on YouTube with videos of approximately one hour with specific topics aimed at employment and skills.
There are currently thousands of platforms for taking free online courses in Spanish. The important thing is that before registering, you should examine the content and confirm that it is not obsolete, since many platforms do not update the uploaded files after a few years and possibly many of the technologies you are going to learn have changed or do not exist. For example, a social media marketing course from 5 years ago is not the same as the one you are taking now, and even more so if you want to learn which are the most used networks and what type of content you can advertise on each of them.
Needless to say, each platform is a different world or style. Do your research, be persistent, and take advantage of all the free information available at your fingertips.
